long time

September 30, 2010

It’s been awhile, huh?  I’m not even going to start posting what has been going on here since the last time I posted, which was February 16th.  Wow, that’s pathetic!  It’s been over HALF OF A YEAR since I’ve done this.  Shame on me.  I said it before, but I really am going to try to stay up to date with this thing!  Not just for you, but for me and the girls 🙂  So without further ado, a quick recap.

Sophia.  She is THREE years old now and crazy as ever.  She is in preschool at Holy Covenant Child Development Center (Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesdays from 9a-2:15p) and LOVES it.  I mean, she LOVES it.  She has 2 kids from her class last year so it was good that she had some familiar faces.  Not that she needed it, the first day she hugged me and with no hesitation waved good bye to me and Ella.  She loves her class and loves her teacher.  Her class is the Brown Bears.  They also have 2 class pets – hermit crabs – which she loves.  Her favorite thing to do at school?  PAINT.  She could paint all day, everyday I think.  Every day on her report it says she painted.  She can paint all she wants at school, it’s too messy to do that everyday at home 🙂    Her favorite thing to do at home right now is puzzles.  She LOVES them and could do them all day too.  I just recently ordered her a few more so she doesn’t have to do the same Dora one over and over.  They are the 24 piece puzzles, and she can do them all by herself.   She is getting to be such a big girl though, potty trained since probably around March!  Very proud of her.  She is such a smart little one, crazy at the same time, and I wouldn’t change a thing about her!

Here is a picture of her last time that I posted (February):

And here she is now:

She has done a little growing up since then 🙂

Speaking of growing up, that takes me to Miss Ella.  She was only eight months last time I posted.  She is now almost SIXTEEN months right now.  She is something else, that’s for sure.  One thing hasn’t changed, she still doesn’t have much hair 🙂  I am hoping that eventually she will get some, but for now, no way.  She has six teeth now and working on some other ones.  She is AMAZING.  She definitely makes me smile every single day.  She is so much like Sophia used to be at this age, but yet so different too.  She is MUCH MORE on the go, into everything.  Every cabinet, drawer, closet, you name it.  I don’t remember Phia being like that as much as Ella is.  She is a very fast crawler and still being lazy and won’t walk for me.  Although today we got about 7 steps on video so maybe it won’t be before too long she starts walking finally!!  She can definitely get wherever she wants though and into whatever she wants.  Her favorite things are her elephants (all 3 of them) and today she got a brand new baby doll from Grandma which I have a feeling she will take everywhere.  We might have to buy her a back up of this one too 🙂  The gym daycare has the same little doll and everytime I would go in there to pick her up she would have this doll and I’d have to pry it out of her hands when I picked her up.  I told Mom about it and she got one for her and she opened the gift today and was very excited.  She loves to watch Yo Gabba Gabba, Fresh Beat Band, and now Cat In The Hat.

Here is a picture of Ella last time I posted on here:

And here she is now:

My little Bug, she sure is amazing!!

And Miss Logan!  She is in FOURTH grade back in Indy and I can’t believe she is growing up so fast.  We see her as often as we can and she loves to fly here and see us and the girls.  She has even flown a couple of times by herself and she loves it!  She loves dancing and listening to music and of course spending time with her sisters 🙂

Here is Logan back in March when she came to visit:

And here she is this past month:

So as you can see a lot has changed since last time!  Brian and I are living in a new house which we love.  It’s a lot more out “in the country” which we love.  LOVE the house and love the area.  The girls have more room to roam and we can now give Logan her own room when she comes to visit, or whoever else may be here.

Again, I can’t catch up on everything but I will try and update more often and stay on top of things.  I will leave you with a picture I took this past June of all of the girls.  It is my absolute fave of the 3 of them and will eventually be a big canvas in our house!!

daddy daughter dance

February 16, 2010

Last weekend Brian took Sophia to the Daddy/Daughter dance that our gym (Lifetime Fitness) was having.  She was so excited to get all dressed up and go!  There was a horse and carriage that took them up to the doors and Sophia had to ride the horse a couple of times 🙂  She was talking to Grandpa Dave earlier in the day about the dance and she goes, “There will be a horsey too.  It’s gonna be awesome.”  I wasn’t expecting her to see that and either was my Dad who was laughing hysterically in the background.  She never ceases to make me laugh!!  I figured that since she was all dressed up for the dance, and it was nice outside, I was going to try and get some pictures of her.  Lately most of my pictures are of Ella because she can’t run away from me like Sophia can.  I actually got some great pictures (FINALLY!) of Sophia though and am happy about that.  And yes, there are a lot because it’s not too often I get decent pictures of her.  There are even more here, too.

And of course, Daddy and daughter 🙂

And of course one with Miss Ella 🙂

She came home and was so excited about the dance!  Even though Brian said she just played with balloons the entire time.  Apparently she was the youngest one there though, so that’s cute.

my poor bug

February 16, 2010

Sunday night Ella woke up quite a bit in the middle of the night.  I never actually had to get her out of bed but had to give her paci to her about 9 times which is something that I usually don’t have to do for her.  Yesterday she seemed a little off all day.  She took her afternoon nap and woke up feeling warm.  I sat her down to play and she cried and cried.  Ella is usually a baby you can sit down and she will play for quite awhile, so I knew with her crying at everything I did (playing, holding her etc) something was wrong.  I couldn’t find our thermometer so I didn’t know what exactly her temp was, but I knew she was warm. I called the doctor and took her right in.  We got in there and she had a fever of 102.2!  This was the first time she’s had a fever like this, poor thing.  They tested her for the flu and it was positive.  No wonder she wasn’t happy.  And on top of that they gave her a shot (antibiotic) and she screeeeeeeeeeeeeamed.  And screamed.  She was so miserable yesterday.  Here she is while we were at the doctor’s office after her shot.

She got home and slept for a couple of hours which she needed though.  She woke up and was still a little warm, but played for a bit and then was in bed around 8p.  And she slept until 8a!!  She must’ve been exhausted.  She woke up this morning though so much happier and has actually sat and played and smiled 🙂  I missed my smiley baby!!

This one is funny, and yet it’s not.  Because she got in trouble for it.

As we were pulling in the driveway tonight from dinner, Brian and I were talking.  I don’t even remember about what and Sophia yells from the backseat, “Daddy, shut up!”  I’m not even sure where she got it from.  I’m sure it’s come out of my mouth at one time or another, but it’s not something we frequently say!

Uh oh.

love

January 30, 2010

Do you think she loves her?

Now that Ella is getting bigger and is playing more, Sophia is loving it.  I can’t wait until Ella can crawl after her though.  Sophia better watch out, paybacks are coming!

sophia

January 30, 2010

It seems like I take so many pictures of Ella these days and not as many of Sophia.  Honestly, Sophia won’t sit still long enough for me to take a picture!  And she is getting worse and actually even LOOKING at me when I have the camera.  Here is one of her funny faces that she makes, she sometimes does it when she’s talking and it cracks me up.

And here she is putting together a puzzle.  Again, not looking at me.

ella’s favorite chewie

January 30, 2010

We got this for Sophia when she was younger and now it’s Ella’s.  I must say, Ella enjoys it a lot more than Sophia used to.  I’d be sad if I lost it and so would Ella!

retiring the infant carrier

January 29, 2010

Finally, it was time.  We retired the infant carrier.  I think Sophia was about 10 months when we put her in her big girl carseat.  We just couldn’t wait that long with Ella.  She is almost 19 lbs and it was getting a little heavy for me to lug around.

So, good bye infant carrier.  It was a long run and you made us proud lasting through 2 girls.

And her new big girl car seat (courtesy of my lovely phone)

She also gives it an A+ for comfort.

When did she get so big?

And look how much smaller Sophia was when we put her in it.  And Sophia was a couple months older than Ella is now in these pictures.

Yesterday we took Ella to the doctor and I was trying to distract Sophia until she came into the room.  I said to her, “Sophia, can you do a somersault?” and she looked at me and put her hand up and goes, “Mommy, let’s wait until the doctor comes in.”  I said, “You want to show her your somersault?’ and her reply, “Yes.”

Then in the afternoon we were sitting at the table eating lunch and Max & Ruby came on in the living room.  She yells, “Look Mommy!  Max & Ruby!  Stop.  Don’t change it.  It’s MY turn.”

She cracks me up.

princess shoes

January 26, 2010

I would have to say that Sophia’s most favorite and most used Christmas present are her Disney Princess dress up shoes.  She wears them EVERYWHERE.  Well, inside the house.  She isn’t allowed to wear them outside.  She walks around in them though pretty much the entire time she’s in the house!  She calls them her “dancing shoes.”  When she is watching Alvin & The Chipmunks (her new favorite movie) and one of the dancing scenes comes on, she will say, “Wait, let me get my dancing shoes!”  She will go and put them on, stand in front of the TV, and dance 🙂

Even first thing in the morning,  in her jammies.

Watching the dance scene in Alvin & The Chipmunks

And lastly, Sophia telling me “No Mommy, wait.  Don’t dance.”
